TORONTO, June 20, 2006 - ACD/Labs Continues to Support Academia Through Software Donations
ACD/Labs has been fueling the advancement of scientific research since 1998 by providing scientists access to our software tools. One of our primary goals has been to ensure that the academic community has access to a chemical structure drawing package enabling accurate representation of chemical structures and inclusion into lab reports. In order to facilitate standardization within an academic environment, we have offered site licenses of our drawing software together with our assistance to support the deployment process. With over 250 donations of site licenses to date, ACD/Labs' software continues to provide a significant impact on a major segment of the academic scientific community. Read more...
 

TORONTO, June 13, 2006 - ACD/Labs Announces Another Free Add-on for Searching the PubChem Online Database
The PubChem project, which was initiated by the National Library of Medicine, has revolutionized online access to millions of chemical structures, names, masses, and an abundance of associated information. Recently, we allowed PubChem, along with eMolecule (formerly Chmoogle), databases to be searched directly from ACD/ChemSketch according to structure or substructure searches, and now we extend the PubChem search capabilities within ChemSketch to comprehend Exact or Monoisotopic mass ranges. This ability is particularly useful for mass spectrometrists searching for endogenous metabolites or biomarkers. This document describes how to integrate and implement mass search capabilities of PubChem from within ACD/ChemSketch in a way that facilitates the searching and reporting of your findings. Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) today announced an extension of the installation of ACD/1D NMR Processor at Kalexsyn's Michigan facility. Kalexsyn provides medicinal chemistry services to scientific customers engaged in the drug discovery process and are experts in all aspects of medicinal chemistry, including organic synthesis, physical property modification, analog strategies, and diversification of compound collections. ACD/Labs today announced that it has entered into a reseller's agreement with Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI), an Applera Corporation business, together with its joint venture partner MDS SCIEX, a division of MDS, Inc. (NYSE:MDZ, TSX:MDS). This agreement allows Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX to sell ACD/Labs' MS Manager, MS Fragmenter, and ChemSketch Software in combination with Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX mass spectrometry products worldwide. The deployment of ACD/Labs Online (I-Lab) service across ICSN/CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) will give French researchers instant access to modern chemical databases and property prediction programs. ACD/Labs Online enables scientists to calculate through an Internet Web interface NMR Spectra (¹H, ¹³C, ¹⁵N, ¹⁹F, ³¹P NMR), physicochemical properties (pK_a, LogP, LogD, and Solubility at various pH values, boiling points, and more), and generate IUPAC and CAS Index systematic names.
